Gumroad alternative
A Gumroad alternative where the money is yours from the first sale.
Thinkspark Sell is a store for digital products — software, typefaces, templates, files — that runs on your own Stripe account. €19 a month flat, 0% commission, and we never touch the money.

Why sellers leave Gumroad
- The 10% grows with every sale: at €3,000 a month you hand over €300 or more, every month.
- Buyers pay Gumroad, then Gumroad pays you. With Sell they pay your own Stripe account and the money never passes through us.
- Your buyers' payments, refunds and disputes live in your Stripe dashboard, not someone else's.
When Gumroad is the better choice
- You want Gumroad's Discover marketplace to bring you buyers you don't have yet.
- You don't want to deal with VAT at all: Gumroad is the merchant of record and files sales tax for you.
Questions
- Is Thinkspark Sell cheaper than Gumroad?
- Once you sell more than a few hundred euros a month, yes. Gumroad charges 10% + 50¢ per direct sale, 30% on Discover marketplace sales, no monthly fee. Sell charges €19 a month flat and 0% per sale; you pay Stripe's own processing fee (about 1.5% + €0.25 on standard EEA cards) directly to Stripe.
- Who receives the money?
- You do, on your own Stripe account. Buyers pay your Stripe directly; Thinkspark Sell never holds, routes or pays out your revenue.
- Who handles VAT?
- Gumroad is the merchant of record and handles sales tax for you. On Sell you are the merchant of record: you collect and declare VAT yourself, and Stripe Tax on your own account can calculate it. That is the trade-off for keeping your money and your customers.
- Can I move my products from Gumroad?
- Yes. Create the products in Sell (or push them from a script with the public API), upload the files, connect Stripe and publish. Past buyers can keep their old downloads; new buyers pay you directly.
